Good Morning, Dear ChoirOnes-
Just got a nice note from Mary Lynn Nelson’s daughter in Wisconsin- Mary Lynn just had her first hip replacement yesterday, and is doing fine. I’ll continue to update you on her recovery; she plans to be back with us next semester, or sooner.
Please be sure you’ve transferred the posted markings to your own music before rehearsal this week- this saves us LOTS of rehearsal time, and makes for a much more polished sound. If anyone needs instructions on accessing the markings part of the Choir website, please ask me or Laurie. All current markings are posted, including for the Chalice Singers music.
Please focus your learning on those pieces I listed in the email of 9/10- we’ll work on those this week in sectionals and together; I’m hoping we’ll have time to start on the first two chorales in the Bach- pp. 15- 16. “Doo” as a neutral syllable- no German yet!
Excelsior! (onward and upward with the arts)

I’m passing along an invitation from former chorister Karen Johnson to meet and hear Katie Fry Hester, candidate for Maryland State Senate, district 9. September 30, 4-6 PM at Karen’s house, 5515 Smallwood Ct., Clarksville 21029. If you plan to attend, please email her at firstname.lastname@example.org. Snacks provided, and food for thought, no doubt.
