Thanks and Chores + New Choirfolk! + Ross’ Show (Sep 25 2018)

Good Morning, Dear ChoirOnes-

Lovely singin’ on Sunday– beautiful blend and lovely shaping of phrases (especially phrase-endings)- very much noticed and appreciated by the congregation and clergy. And ‘specially good ensemble singing and diction from the Chalice Singers- nice work! Your watching and listening are ever-improving, ChoirFolk!
For Thursday:
– Please learn “Sanctuary”– in the version we handed out Thursday; just the first half (in Eb) is enough. We’ll be using this to process up to the chancel on Oct. 7, so we need to be off-book on this right away.
– We’ll work on polishing “Amazing Grace,” and “We Will Be a Shelter”, maybe reading “Danny Boy”and “Remember”, time permitting;.
– Bach: Review/learn the first two chorales, pp. 15-17, on “doo”;
Review/learn “Fallt mit Danken” (pp. 31ff.)- on “doo”; be sure, second sopranos, that you have those ossia lower notes written in. Any question on those?
  Start learning “Jauchzet, Frohlocket” pp. 5ff., on “doo.” Under tempo! from the website sound files. I’ll send some soprano II ossia lower notes, soon.

Note: If your German is very secure and fluent, feel free to start singing in German- it will help some with both the rhythm and the vocal placement.
Non Germano-phones, please start working soon with Inge’s German recordings on the website. Deborah will be a fine resource for you too.

Do come this Sunday if you can. Lots of good jazz and more, with the HouseBand, including Anthony. And some hymns that you can support the congregation on.

Excelsior! (onward and upward)-

Tom

Oh- and I meant to mention our two latest ChoirOnes- Ann Wing and Arlette- please be sure to meet and greet them on Thursday, if you haven’t yet.

A hearty ChoirWelcome!

Tom
